Here’s another photo
One of me up on the stage
See I was young and handsome then
Could not imagine my own age
But those salad days fly faster
Than a peregrine
Today I’m moving in slow motion like a
Peckinpah scene I’m in
Sometimes I wake up laughin’
At Mike’s old joke’s great punchline
The one about the Old Log Inn
That killed me every time

I can still see us all
Loadin’ up the van
Travelin’ down the scenic routes and
Hangin’ with the fans
The memories still linger
In the dreams of this old man
And even though I won’t be
I’ll still be in the band

I’m Tunin’ up while Derri croons
And Hindie keeps the beat
Mike’s fingers fly, that’s Gene up front
Still in the driver’s seat

And this could be our last dance, boys
So let’s leave ‘em wanting more
Let’s tip our top hats and twirl our canes
As we’re goin’ out the door
And though we’ll all be busy
Makin’ other plans
And even though I won’t be
Even though I won't be
Even though we won’t be
We’ll still be in the band
We’re still in the band…
