Disappearing Ink

My letters were bold
My intentions were clear
When I wrote them down
Way back when
Now I’m just a shadow
Soon I’ll disappear
Along with these lines
Growing dim
I’ve penned you the warning
It won’t ever heed
Though the words grow more potent
With age
It’s there in the book
It won’t ever read
With words it won’t find
On the page
I wrote it all down in
Disappearing ink
A king with a crown of
Disappearing ink
And I will soon drown in it
You’re watching me sink
I’m fading, I’m fading, I’m fading
I’m fading away
And if in the future
There’s somehow a trace
Of the gallery that
Is my heart
Know that I’ve moved on
To a much better space
While displaying my
Vanishing art
I wrote it all down in
Disappearing ink
A king with a crown of
Disappearing ink
And I will soon drown in it
You’re watching me sink
I’m fading, I’m fading, I’m fading
I’m fading away…
