Read the full story at http://www.danielamos.com. He wrote this song and filmed it as a thank you to the more than 800 people who helped a brother in need UPDATE 4/19/11: Dear Friends- Since I last wrote you last the number of donations along with sweet words of kindness and encouragement have continued unabated. I am truly speechless. I am happy to report that my daughter Noelle, while still experiencing an occasional ache and pain, has recovered nicely from her surgery and all of you, along with relieving us of countless burdens, have enabled us to take care of her hospital bills. I want you to know that in addition to this, your gracious words directed her way, along with the many prayers on her behalf, no doubt played a major role in her speedy recovery. Deb, Noelle, and I just returned from visiting our son Andrew who lives up in Portland. We have been missing him greatly and the time spent with him refreshed our spirits beyond measure. Andrew, along with his many friends whom we have grown very close to over the years, were truly astounded and greatly moved when we shared with them the outpouring of love we've received from all of you. Your kindness and generosity is an amazing witness of love and faith in action to these kids and a brilliant testimony to the benevolence of our loving and merciful savior. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for making this possible. Lastly, contrary to what you may have heard (and as Mark Twain once commented) " the reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated." Well, not exactly my "demise" but the possibility that because of health reasons I would not be able to participate in the Daniel Amos tour. Not so. I do have health issues but they are currently manageable (and hopefully this will be so for many years to come). I would mention here that your contributions will go a long way in helping me maintain my health and, God forbid, in the event of any major problem developing, greatly help any financial hurdles we may face in the future as a result. In other words, I'm ready willing and able to tour and can't wait to not only join my old compadres in making music on the road again, but to see your dear faces as well fills me with great joy and anticipation. I'll be posting more here in the days to come. In the meantime, God's richest blessings to you my friends. Tender thoughts of you and sincerest prayers for you fill me even now. May each and every one of you always go "under the Mercy." Terry A desperate plea from the friends of Terry TaylorTo any and all who been blessed by the life and gifts of Terry Taylor. It is with much regret that I come to you with a desperate prayer. Our dear friend and brother, Terry Taylor, is experiencing one of the direst personal struggles of his life. Since the cancellation of Catscratch, his financial situation has been dismal to say the least. His wife and daughter both teach at a pre-school to help make ends meet week to week but it hasn't been enough and two years ago they lost their home in foreclosure. As many of you know, Terry, who is uninsured, has had ongoing medical problems for the past five years, with last year being particularly troublesome and expensive. The bills have mounted steadily and the late fees continue to add more misery. Last month their little apartment was burglarized and items of great sentiment were stolen. As an unwanted culmination to one of the toughest years in the life of his family, this past weekend his daughter Noelle was rushed to the hospital and had to have emergency surgery to remove her gall bladder. He hasn't wanted us to share his story and burden his fans and we've been trying some creative new ideas to raise Terry's income but this last blow has broken the camel's back and nearly broken Terry's spirit. I know many of you would want to help our brother in this time of personal crisis. If we all gave $10 or $20 it would go a long way toward relieving this burden for their family. Some of you may be able to give more; some less. Anything would help right now. We've set up a relief fund that can be donated to through Paypal. Be sure and click on "Update Total" after you enter the amount. If you'd like to donate in some other way, you can send checks or whatever to: Terry Taylor c/o Kings Road Music PO Box 86421 San Diego, CA 92138 We'll make sure all checks get to Terry. As a reminder, CD and DVD sales through the webstore will also go directly to Terry as they always do. Thank you for hearing and for being the support you've been to Terry and his family for these many years. Tom G., the Townsends, the Lost Dogs, and Terry's family |
