     | I have more and more friends who want Fearful Symmetry and the like on CD (or at all). The only way that I know to get them is to pay $40+ each on Ebay. I have Fearful Symmetry on CD and will probably eventually fork over the dough for the Alarma Chronicles etc. for myself and would like DA's permission to copy the CD's for my friends. I recommend to my friends that they purchase albums like Shotgun Angel that are currently available from your website, it's just the rare, really, really pricy stuff that you folks won't profit from the sale of anyway that I would like your okay to copy.

I realize that this is an unusual request and the rights to the songs probably don't even belong to DA, but nevertheless....

 Thanks,
 Jef

     | We'll look the other way as long as some cash ends up in DA's pockets.
(IF it is not a widespread distribution - including internet downloads, etc - or the selling of bootlegs for profit.)

We certainly understand how frustrating it is trying to get some of those out of print titles.. we are in the process of starting a series of deluxe reissues - which is why we wouldn't want any widespread distribution of the bootlegs (Like internet downloads, etc). We do of course want to make our money back and anything like that can make it extra difficult.

     | hmmmm..
when you say "Please may I bootleg"
 and thank you afterward-
it rather takes away from the word, dont you think?
 I mean-
"GAR..I snuck in the recorder man - really, - I shot the entire show dude- I am ripping off Corporate America..I stuck it to em. HAHAHAHAHAH!!"

Well - I thought the very word implied that you STOLE it!
You cant ask permission to steal!

You are all to kind - but thats OK - I dont wear boots anyway.

     | Hi, Audioris:

These back-catalog singles would be perfect for a pay-per-download thing. Dan Michaels (or somebody) over at the Choir website has done this through something called "buzzplant":

 http://www.thechoirdownloads.com/

Could that work with DA? It would be a fun way to get unreleased rarities etc. out of the closet too...

We've been discussing doing something like that... we just have to find the right thing. Mike would like to do something with some Dogs material as well.... so thats also being talked about.

        | I've wondered about that too | | Yeah, I've wondered about that too. I remember that Keith Green used to have and address on the back of all of his albums that you could write too and get free copies of his music (of course, people actually knew who he was, so I assume he made enough on record sales to live on. Either that or the ravens fed him, but I digress...)

Why not a website for old Christian music that isn't going to be re-released anyway? (please re-release Darn Floor Big Bite on CD, please, please, please) I can get "Looking Glass's Greates Hits" for $.99 a song on iTunes (still don't think they have any Beatles), why not "Black Gold Feaver" or Isaac Air Freight Skits (featuring Sprinklerhead) for $.98.

So much really good Christian music was created during and after the Jesus Movement that had such limited distribution and is impossible to find now, it would really be great if there was somewhere to get all of this stuff. Bandwidth and storage are getting to be so cheap that I can't imagine that the site wouldn't pay for itself (of course, I could be wrong and don't know anything about licenses or rights management (I do have a call in to Sony, however), or remastering).

My life, my love and my lady is the sea,
 Jef

quite, but I don't want to go to that much trouble to type the word .imagine. Much easier to put the period before it.
