What album was your first from any Terry Taylor group and what year did you by it?
I realize stuff like this has probably already been hashed out but I'm new here and I want to see which person is the longest fan...
Mine was "Kalhoun" and it was 1994. The only reason I got it was because I found it new at Radrockers in the budget section for about $5.00...I said "That's not too bad of an investment to make even if it does blow!" Since then I've got quite a few. It's almost like an addiction...

Motorcycle -1994
I loved it, and then i got Zoom Daddy (not knowing anything about Terry) and loved it. Saw that Terry was involved and figured "Wow, this guy must be good." After that, I picked up Bibleland and was sorely disappointed. I took it back to the bookstore the next day. i was tired of...oh wait, i'm from Kentucky. I kept Bibleland and have grown to appreciate it, but it's still my least favorite rock album of his.
I bought Zoom Daddy b/c my friend Drew (a non-christian and we're still prayin') said I should get it. "Ooo, buy this one, it has a cool cover". I miss Drew. He would always go into the Xian bookstores with me and make fun of stuff, well, we both did. I bought him a copy of Sacred Cows when it came out at C-stone. He loved it. One time we went into the Family Bookstore and there was this giant stand up of Point of Grace (or something like that) and he said...I hope this offends nobody..."Heh. Hey Rob, none of these girls put out. Let's get out of here." We both laughed and bought a copy of Rick Altizer's first album. He loved Adrian Belew, so it hooked him.
I don't know why i just shared all of that with everyone. Maybe it's because i've had a cruddy day and my sinus headache hurts. Maybe it's because i haven't posted in a long time. Blah blah blah.

Fearful Symmetry 1987 (It is currently in my player in my truck!
Though, in somewhat different format than when I originally heard it. A fellow teen friend of mine (when I was 17 and a new Christian) had it on vinyl and encouraged me to borrow it and listen to them to see what I thought. After I got hooked, went back I borrowed Doppelganger, Vox Humana, Alarma!...)

Mine was Shotgun Angel in ...78? Mr brother bought it and i showed contempt for it at first (before listening). Then when i saw it contained Father's Arms (a Boone sisters hit), i became very interested. i was absolutely hooked by the time someone yelled, "Stamp me!" and was completely enchanted by Lady Goodbye.

"Let's Spin" 1988 on CD. Then I bought "Fearful Symmetry" and "Darn Floor, Big Bite" that summer!

Good thread HH!
i think we have done it before, but we have said just about everything 400,000 times. Except for Sapho's poetry; that's not very big here.

Shotgun was the first I was hooked and couldn't wait for HD to come out. THe owner of the Christian bookstore asked me how these guys can call themselves Christians since they were dressed in odd outfits in the gatefold of the album. I looked at him strangly and got the hell out of his store.
He was the same jerk that didn't go to his son's wedding because the bride wasn't amillenial.
then HD, Alarma and so on. I have it all and proud of it. 23.5 years as a fan..dang that makes me feel old.

Spurning the amillenial bride, that sounds like good song material for Brian Healey.
