I have no idea where that word came from, I meant concept.
"The intellection was very cool, although lyrically a bit obtuse at times."

Every time I say c-o-n-c-e-p-t it replaces it with intellection!

damb word editor!
I vividly recall first hearings of DFFB-
at the time I was not listening to any secular music- only "CCM" (pardon the label)...
but I loved it-and will openly say I saw it more as an art piece than a "catchy recording"- and therefore did not get the personal airplay of some of the other giants from that era at the time (CCM )
things like
Russ Taffs Self Titled-
the Turning
Sundays Child- Phil K
etc etc.
there was a lot of uncharted waters in CCM
I will say it was the Eddies phenomenon that impressed me more at the time- (in 8
I loved the turn from the turn they did on DFFB-.
I found a real fun site for those who dig DFFB-
are you ready?????
(hang on to your collective hats here.....sheesh!)

I just have one question: Does this site have anything to do with the Right Reverend Dr. Edward Daniel Taylor?
Seriously, my eyes hurt from all the red letters (not to mention the high velocity scrolling
)

Wow, that just......wow......
"The purpose of Christian music was NEVER meant to evangelize the lost!"
I can't put into words how ridiculous that sounds.
Back on topic, the only copy of DFBB I've ever had is on cassette. I need to go back and give it a listen since I haven't heard it since I was in middle school.

Here is a line from that website makes me laugh:
"Let's listen to the "screaming-satanic-man-worship" in a few CCM concerts..."
fantastic...

I think that website might have a point though, I feel a little bad listening to "screaming-satanic-man-worship." Maybe if it was toned down a little to "wailing-demonic-man-accolades" I would feel more comfortable with it. Just a thought.

Are you being serious? Do you really think they have a point?

I've never owned it or heard it, but I'd be willing to pay $20 for it to be rereleased. I'm learning to be patient and to annoy others at the same time.

Those people have a lot in common with Koko the Gorilla, their understanding of music is about equal to her understanding of the earthquake.

True Koko actually had a pretty good description and didn't pass judgement on the earthquake.

I have the CD and the record. I tend to listen to my backup CD of it most because I cranked the volume level up in my audio-editor.
I just find it interesting how this album gained such a draw, mostly from sources outside of the original release.
As for its weirdness, that was the major draw for me. With the synth-heavy previous DA releases, things were in lock-step with the sleek 80s (not necessarily a dig, mind you). DFBB came out with this off-kilter, angular sound that was in lock-step with NOTHING, sometimes not even itself. It was a true original in a landscape where everyone sounded so dang similar.
