You play old music
Well some of it's a bore
To me it's all irrelevant
Like Haight Street and love beads
Still you want to make a statement
But this nostalgia thing hangs on
Your friends all miss the point cause
They see where you've gone
They've seen that you've gone to...
You take too many trips down memory lane
You take too many trips down memory lane
You take another trip down memory lane
You go down there once too often and you're likely to remain
"old music" = Pink Floyd
if you want weird, "The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band" is more intelligent.
if you want trippy, PF can't touch "Massive Attack".
"Careful With That Axe, Eugene" ... please.
Good for running during the credits to a John [hack] Carpenter flick.
"Fat Old Sun" from "Atom Heart Mother" is nice in
a treacly, "Every Good Boy Deserves Favor"
sort of way ... too bad they couldn't keep their heads
straight long enough to make an entire album like that.
is that enough condescension for one post?
if you wanna get snide, mr. admin ...
a piece of advice.
don't bring a knife to a gun fight.

You talking to us?
I see more confusion than condescension.
Hate to have a battle of wits with an unarmed man.
We couldn't care less about pink floyd.
No todo esta en su cabeza.
And by the way, for those interested in German Metal,
The Gallows Pole no longer exists.
Where is Berger Roy Al when you need him? .....
Berger Roy, hmmmm...Billy Ray....Berger Roy....

I think that is true within the hiphop subculture.
the Gospel seems to be more accepted by the
hiphop subculture, at least on the surface...

Could be argued 'within the hip hop culture.' But as a whole,
I would say that Christian rock has reached a much larger
audience if not simply because of it's age, it's been around 30+
years. But some could argue, that Christian pop has reached
even more people than Christian rock, because it's more
generally radio/TV accepted. But even then, there are varied
levels of arguments as to the validity of 'how much' of a
message is actually being conveyed in any of these formats.
Are people beng challeneged, paying attention to the
message or simply ignoring the message because they
like the music? That depends upon the thickness of skin
and heardness of heart in the audience which no one can
measure but God.
Ecclesiastes 11:6
Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let not your
hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether
this or that, or whether both will do equally well.

More like an Uzi to a touch-football game.
But I hope he calms down and sticks around awhile. He may have more in common with us than he'd like to believe. I mean, he's smart, obnoxious and loves God despite both, so that's a pretty good start right there....

this is true.....

So how do you feel about the statement: "In God we trust. All others pay cash"?
