There's three great songs on it -- in fact, three of my favorites. The rest is sort of lame.

i think Broken Ladders and Bakersfield are great or beyond.
There are at least 5 others that i like very much (bubble, Bibleland, etc)

There's not a bad song on the CD. It rocks. My least favorite song is Broken Ladders believe it or not.

Bibleland took a long, long time to grow on me. I'm a guy who loves variety of sounds and instruments, and Bibleland is not much of either. Straight-on guitar on almost all tunes. Compare that with SotH, which was "out there" but is at the top of my DA list because it is so various and unique in it's tunes, instrumentation, lyrics, and theme.
Bibleland is raw, unpolished, grungy, loud, and some of the songs were done in only one take - mistakes and all. Some of the songs I wouldn't dream of showing any of the good folks in my church (e.g. "blood, frogs, and feces...") I always skip over bibleland, bubble, pete, and she's working here. And I never really understood some songs (e.g. Bakersfield) until I read the comments from Terry.
That said, it has some great tunes on it. Broken Ladders, Theo's logic, out in the cold, i'll get over it, low crawls, bakersfield, constance are great in my book.
Bibleland, like every other DA recording, is just different. To the critics: dig your roots a little deeper on this one, then sit back and enjoy!

or you could spew it my way..(not the highway, please)
I must admit- my first impression was "Wow-THATs different"
(and I did not hear it till like, 2000) but there are times the whole thing is perfect- its loud and a little mean sounding, and I love the entire work, and I think its more cohesive than others...the style goes from front to back- and I confess many of the lyrics escape me still (generally no, but specifically, yes)
Finally, does Bibleand have a specific purpose, mission or goals as a recording? And if so, what are they?

Bibleland was always one of my favorites. I know I'll get into trouble for this, but I even like it more than Darn Floor-Big Bite.
The weakest song on the album is Broken Ladders. Theo's Logic is just perfect for me. And Pete and Repete has that hard and raw sound that just needs to be cranked after a rough day.
