Everybody always complains about KMG and how much trouble they are and how much it costs to get things done with them.
Does anybody know the whole KMG story? Are they just gold-diggers, or did they initially have good intentions and make investments that didn't pay off the way they thought they would? They released a lot of things that you can still find in print, like about 8 years or more later. (Such as DA Personal Fave Hits, SE Berry Vest, TST John Wayne, TST Glimpses of Grace, Surfonic, etc.)
Any indication of things changing hands (or at least business practices) now that Buddy Killen is dead?

His son (and I believe one other person) took over KMG a while before he died. From what I understand, the label was basically dried up before that happened and they're trying to get it started again. I would assume they're trying to get funding and backing from another company or individuals before they can do much.
Hopefully, we can make a deal with them that will help them get started.

As a reminder from the Timleine 1997; Terry agreed to be the head of west coast A&R for the Killen Music Group (KMG Records), a Nashville-based record label. This label, owned by Buddy Killen (Hank Williams' bass player, producer of Heartbreak Hotel, etc.) will be predominantly Christian and has acquired the old Frontline catalog.
Terry worked with Buddy Killen and was part of KMG origin, I believe the label had good intentions.

believe it or not, I actually remembered that tidbit; that Terry was going to be West Coast A&R man.
Sounds like their funding dried up and they didn't make enough off their initial efforts to keep things going?

KMG kind of collapsed when they lost their distribution deal with Provident....but if i'm not too mistaken both Terry and other notable persons affiliated with the label left them before that happend ?

Sweet! Joey can you pick me up on the way? Just swing down through San Antonio Texas and then we will pick up Dennis and head to music city. Lets do this the weekend of the 23rd. They will never expect that!
