It is a crime and a shame that MBD didn't land Daniel Amos on the cover of Rolling Stone.

I can't say that Wilco & Beck's are overrated. They are great albums by great artists!
MBD is very underrated though!

Plus it has one of my all time my favorite tunes - Fingertips. It's a little weird, though. A few of you don't like the song. I practically fell off my chair, though, when I heard it the first time.
|
Fingertips is great! I love that song!
Besides, DA must be at least a "little" weird or it would not be DA!

I know this has been posted on before, but that 2nd disc on MBD just blows me away. I would say it's as good as dfbb!

My MBD #2 disc is Better than yours
It opens w/ "Nowhere is Someplace" ( thanks BD
)
http://artists.mp3s.com/artist_song/1709/1709596.html
& does not have dead space after "And So it Goes"
& the "Nonsence end stuff" ( thanks to mp3 clipper
)
BTW I do own the original CD Too...
|
That is like my taped copy of MBD! Except I have that at the end of the tape.
I also have a few damb it tracks on it!
I have "Nowhere is someplace" on my cd-r of DFBB!

..well in all seriousness, as with any NeW technology there is a darkside / lightside to it...
darkside: YeS I have a FeW CDR's that I have made from the
local library, napster, friends, etc...
lightside: adding "bonus" tracks to CD's that I Own
I added a few acoustic tracks to "Lifehouses" 2 cds
I made a CD of all of "sixpence none the richers" singles...
about 20.
added a demo song to Project86 "truthless heros"
"Live" bootlegs on CD !!!
)
deleting dead space i.e. bonus tracks (see above MBD#2 disc)
letting My Brother who seems to lose any CD I let him borrow...
anyway... that is what I think.

I think I would have a tough time choosing.

And so it Goes........
I wouldn't choose between the two, they compliment each other and make up the whole that is MBD.....

Oh, yeah, they're BOTH great! But since you're commenting on #2, I always get blown away by Small Great Things. I love the way everyday people are pictured moving in faith. It's a great graphical representation to me. And then Easy For You. What hooks me there is Terry's way of presenting the way two very different people approach faith. I don't see such a condemnation and writing off of the "other" approach so much as an admission that it seems so foreign to the character doing the speaking and it blows him away that someone can so effortlessly embrace things that way. I guess what it is is that the song allows room for an approach that differs from the author's. And as for the music. Just great.
And if you haven't guessed they both still get a great amount of airplay (in my little space) here.

Small Great Things is one of the songs I've been listening to more since Shemp sampled it on Damb It.

As an added attraction, you get that little exchange on the front end that's now an inside joke. And Ed's his usual chatty self:
"Come in here Ed"
"Ok"
Man, that cracks me up every time I listen!!!
