I stumbled on this interesting podcast where a few Lit Profs discuss DA's Kalhoun album:

...should be in "general discussion." Smile

Thanks, mindgasket. That was really interesting. In some ways, Kalhoun has always been the hardest album for me to come to grips with, and I think they did a good job of teasing out the themes in it. The final comments about not offering their own Kalhoun were particularly good. I should check out some of their other podcasts.

I only listened to part of it, but it seemed to me they misinterpret a lot.

That killed that thread......
I did listen to about 30 minutes of the show. It was pretty obvious that the main guy was a DA enthusiast and the other guys had probably never heard of them! I have the rest bookmarked and will get to the rest later this week.

For me, Kalhoun was a total, out of the blue shock. I thought that after "Darn Floor..." Daniel Amos was finished and there would never be another album from them. I got hugely excited when I read about Kalhoun coming out and even though it wasn't what I expected, it has really grown on me over the years.

I'm curious what people think of their final thoughts on the album. They seem to flail around for answers for a lot of the show and then come up with some interesting takes for their final thoughts.
