I have been told that mastering starts this coming week.
I know we haven't had a lot to say for a while now.. it's hard to just keep saying that they're working on mixes and make it sound exciting. Now that that is done, it should start to be a little more obvious that things are moving pretty soon here.

I'm told the mixes are roughly 99.9% done... they've just been making some smaller changes here and there. Once that is done, we sholuld have some bigger announcements coming (release date, etc.) On the artwork, I know they've had several pieces that were being considered for various things... it's still in the brainstorming stages.

This is something else... something that has been worked on simultaneously with HD, but is getting done first. It has been hinted at and there have been a few teasers on FB.
The wheels are still in motion for HD... one thing happened recently that actually made part of it much easier. Charles Norman just purchased a new studio that will allow him to transfer reels for us faster... so that's nice. That should get things moving a little better. That was one of the major hold ups.

All previously released versions. it was done just so people that were new to the band could pick up all of the big songs that they were doing in concert all in one place. not so much for the die hard fans.

We are awaiting Terry's return to Nashville to finish mixing.
Not much to report until that happens. It is happening very soon however.
Until then, a new Deluxe 2 CD reissue is coming...

They're all pretty well different... it was astounding what Terry was able to do with them.
And, yes, we consider the people that commissioned the songs to be the "owners" - especially considering the fact that some contain personal information. So everything will be done with their permission if it's done at all.

This came up once before but after talking with Terry about it recently, it might actually be something he would like to do. Obviously, I'll do a more formal survey if this thing gets off the ground.
For those of you that received a customized Swine Before Pearl, vol one - would you be willing to authorize your track's use on a special limited edition custom Swine collection?
For everyone - would you be interested in purchasing a CD of all of the custom Swine Before Pearl tracks? (These are the tracks that Terry wrote specifically for each person).

I haven't heard anything on artwork yet... I'm sure they're taking some time to look it all over and consider each option.
I would guess - and it's just a guess - that the album will be coming in the May - June time period. I know they're trying to get the mixes finished. It'll have to be mastered still, which usually doesn't take too long.. and of course artwork and packaging will have to be put together.

Me too.
Solid Rock has been transferring reels for us... just taking a while. I know the last one they did had some issues and it took quite a bit of time to get a clean digital copy. I'm assuming that's most of the delay. They said they sound amazing though.

There have been a lot of good submissions so far, but we've all heard from a lot of people that said they just needed a little more time. We definitely don't want it to feel rushed or for anyone to feel left out because they just need a few more days. This extension of the deadline should allow most of those people enough time to wrap up what they're working on.

OK, kids, while Uncle Terry and the boys add the final licks of paint to the flames on the hood and sides of this frenchin' Camaro, we've got a little project for you artistic types. Since this project wouldn't have been possible without your support we are going to let you guys create much of the artwork for this album, including the cover and up to 10 pages in the sleeve art.
Here are the rules: The piece must be square. It must be at least 13"x13" (300 dpi if it's computer art- we are doing vinyl on this, remember). It can be any medium (paint, photography, sculpture, collage, you name it) but remember that the final representation will be a 2-dimensional scan or hi-res photo. It cannot have the title of the album on it (we will be adding that). It must be finished and submitted by midnight, April 3, 2013. Details will forthcoming about how to submit. The final winning pieces will be chosen by the band but every submission will be shown in a special gallery here on our Facebook page, so give it your best shot.
OK, as you know, the album is called "Dig Here, Said The Angel." Here are the lyrics to the title song for some inspiration (you don't have to be literal, just artistic.)
