I've worked in xian radio for the past 15 years, from little am stations
to a syndicated show heard on 120 stations all over the US.

Most stations look at the charts and just play what is on the top 40
or whatever.

The station I work at now we do things a little different. We play
what is on the charts but we also add in what we like. In our
music system I have , Cash, Colburn, Taylor, 77's, Dogs, Innocence
Mission, Theo and I even have a couple of songs from Jim Wiita in there. Smile

If it was up to me I would only play music that I like but you can't
push away the audience. I do mix it up but honestly it is very
difficult to play some of the above mentioned in the midst of
3rd day, Matt Redman, etc. It really sticks out like a sore thumb.

When I do play good stuff i usually have to play a classic song
before it, Keith Green, Amy Grant, etc. It works then, but
coming from some over compressed repetitive bubble gummy
top 40 song honestly it is +gulp+ not good programming.
I have been wanting to stick something from the new se cd
on there - which by the way i think is their best - but honestly
there is not one song on there that would fit in with the current
xian playlist.

I wanted to keep it free so they would get some new fans that already show
up at the coffeehouse.

They sold some CDs to people who never heard of them before.

MF,

What happened was i fronted the money and then sold sponsorship packages
with the radio station for the show, i wanted to keep it free.
If I would have had more time I would have gotton more sponsorship
but we only had about 3 weeks to get it all together.

I think I recouped all of it but 150 of my own money but I would have
paid that much to go somewhere to see them so it is no big deal it was
worth it.

I think the picture of Eddie is the only one i have where he actually looks happy.

I tried to lighten up the pics but it just made them look funny.

You won't be dissapointed. I listened to it again last night.

"Devils Elbow" could have been on John Wayne.
"Plug in turn on burn it up" could be a choir song musically.
"Corona Del Mar" could be on a SE project. - perhaps one Terry was
writing for the new one?
"Hardining My Heart" - nada
"Where Jesus Is" I am going to add that one to the station playlist
"Get ME Ready For It" great rocker - they did this one live.
"Broken In Brooklyn" - Classic Lost Dogs

The CD is an interesting mix. Everytime I listen a new song pops out at me.

Hardning My Heart - Roe sings it and cause of the lyrics I thought he wrote it
but Terry did. That one might me my favorite so far.
With a different arrangement it could have been on an early 7s record.

It was kinda weird Hindalong did not have a kit, he wore a snare drum around
his neck and walked around and played. jk he is back there i will find some more pics. Indie Hindie had a cool little drum set.

We had a good turn out, it was crowded some people hung outside.

The Dogs seemed to be happy with everything. I won't promote another gig like that again for a while but by next year I should be ready again Smile

It was a great show, i was never as nervous playing a gig before.

Songs I remember from their set. Wild Ride, Vegas Story, Rocky Mountain Mines,
No Room For Us (WOW!), That's Where Jesus Is (new), Devil's Elbos (new),
Blessing In Disguise, Crushing Hand. That is all I remember now.

The new CD is AWESOME!! It reminded me at first of John Wayne but then it
changed. It is fantastic.

Hey MF - you are right we are having record highs with no rain.

You can cut through the air with a knife. But somehow Eddie's spirits are
high he always is just singing praises, he is an encouragement to us all.

Theo,
That sounds great, hopefully if we don't get hit again this summer we can do another gig. Maybe by then we can get Wiita and Jevon down here to? Can you pick them up on your way down? Big Grin

The way you become a zombie is you are given a mixture
of poisons including extract from the puffer fish, this mixture
slows down your heart beat so you are assumed dead.
After your funeral the person who gave you the poison
digs you up and revives you using a plant called the zombi cucumber aka
Jimsonweed! You are then alive again but braindamaged and
will do whatever the person who has you under their
control wants you to, you are now a Zombie!
At least that is how we do it in New Orleans.

So the obvious answer is a Jimsonweed record.

HMMM - It does only happen when Tim is speaking.
Sounds like Berger may have intercepted it on the way to the Mastering
house and overdubbed his own commentary!
