I found out about "Preachers From Outer Space" I think through the Rad Rockers catalog.

What drew me to it was that it was advertised as a "bootleg."

At the time, I really wanted to find "bootleg" recordings (and imports and harder to find stuff. Also music I had never heard before.)

That one album had me hooked ever since.

I would LOVE to see a deluxe edition of Motorcycle. Perhaps my favorite DA album!

Years ago there was a guy who sold (well, traded...) good quality boots online of various artists. I managed to get some of the CDs by him, and he had several Daniel Amos boots on there that I never got around to getting.

Now he's no longer online.

His site was called Disc & Dat. (http://members.fortunecity.com/discndat/) Again, no longer online, link no longer works.

I just wondered a couple things... are the boots he offered on the band camp page? And are there any boots he offered that we can look forward to seeing? He had some called "Loose Ends" by Terry Taylor that collected a lot of the stray Terry Taylor songs that ended up on other albums that were never on any DA/Eddies/Dogs albums. What are the chances we could see those resurface on Bandcamp?

Right, and that's why I am asking about "demos." I only got a link to one video. Is there more?

Kickstarter is also a good thing because it gives a definite end time. I've missed out on specials from pre-orders in the past because I never knew when the end date was, thought I had time to get the money for it, and then when I'd go and buy it I was too late. At least with Kickstarter the goal is right out there for all to see.

I would most absolutely be interested in a "back room trax" type series! The "Stunt Approved Bootlegs" don't seem to be available anymore, so that would be a welcome option!

I very much prefer Vol 2 over Vol 1 (if I were to pick one...)

Hopefully a Vol 3 will be forthcoming. I'd love to get a CD where Terry performs songs he has written for other people but never performed himself before. Just an idea...

I heard Terry's next big project is doing an All Day Singing On the Gounds XXVII with the Gaithers.

And after that he's doing a tribute album to Evie with the Swirling Eddies. (Wait...I would actually buy that!)

Great show! I was thrilled to see DA in concert finally (a fan for a long time, first full band show I've been to.) Work schedules/travel time to most shows makes it hard for me to get to some others in the past!

Who else from here went?

You forgot the part where Terry told you Jesus was coming back soon and when you turned around he had vanished.

Well, apparently nobody posting here went to this show. But here is a good write up on it written by the guy who ran sound for the show. I think he does a better job at it than I could!

Ok, which 77s album should I start with? Which one is the best intro to the group?

OH, WAIT!!!!!!!!!!! I just remembered. I BOUGHT "HOLY GHOST BUILDING". So I guess that's my first 77s album. Still, which one would you suggest?

I would recommend Sticks and Stones. Trying to get it at a fair price can be difficult...used copies can command a high dollar amount, but you can get a good deal if you shop around.

Drowning with Land in Sight is often said to be a fan favorite, as is Pray Naked. Both are essential classics.

What were your first albums you bought that got you into DA and/or Mike Roe/the 77's? (I realize this is a DA message board, but fans often listen to both and I discovered both around the same time.)

First Daniel Amos CD: Preachers from Outer Space

First 77's CD: Echos of Faith.

(I bought both from Rad Rockers and bought them blind based solely on the description in the catalog. I decided to start with those because they seemed to be different from the norm and because of the limited availability.)

First Swirling Eddies CD (which I did NOT know their ties to Terry Taylor and the gang): Sacred Cows

And...just to add since it's relatable...first Choir CD: Love Songs and Prayers

First Adam Again CD: Homegrown

First Lost Dogs CD: The Green Room Serenade Part One

EDIT: How could I forget these?

Terry Scott Taylor: A Briefing For the Ascent

Mike Roe: Safe as Milk (12 song version, which seemed to be harder to come by when I purchased it, but now it seems to be the standard version.)

And, of course, Steve Hindalong's Skinny

Just curious who here attended the show in Grandview, MO Thursday night on 7/30/09? It might have been a "gyp show" but I feel like we got the best show with Terry and Michael Roe in concert!

This was the first show I have attended with Terry. I've been listening to his music ever since I bought Preachers from Outer Space an eon ago from Rad Rockers (among 77's rarities...I guess I was a reverse of most fan journeys...I started with some of the obscure/rare stuff and worked my way into the more mainstream stuff) and don't have many excuses for not attending a concert before.
