Thread: Will there ever be another DA record? |
|
If I ever sent Uncle Terry an e-mail I'd probably sound all gushing and stupid.
I wish I had cable, I'd check out the new Tennapel project when it comes out. Guess I'll have to find someone nice enough to tape it for me.

I know that Terry has been busy with the Dogs and the new Eddies project, but what about his first love, DA? Didn't MBD come out almost five years ago now? Will that be the DA swan song? It'd be a brilliant way to go out, but it'd be awesome to hear something new from Terry, Tim, Ed, and Greg again.

No Comment on that one.
Doug's next graphic novel is due out this summer! It's gonna be close to 300 pages - YOWZA!! |
Cool! I have never read the other one. Creature Tech. Is that one hard to find, like an internet only deal? |
Creature Tech is awesome - I bought mine on Ebay.
I'm sure if you tried you could probably order it at Borders or Barnes & Noble.
As a comic fan, and as a guy trying to create his own comics, this was a huge inspiration. Doug pulls no punches, but he creates stories that are as real as they are bizarre. And they have that underlying theme, or, the "Central Theme" running throughout them.
So yeah, see if you can order it through Amazon, or your local bookstores. They might still be available.

Wow, big leap!
Sounds like it'll be a blast though.

Once again, Dorf never ceases to amaze me.
And he places imagery in my head that will give me plenty of nightmares in the future.
Guess I'm gonna have to turn to drinkin'.

I like that Vox Humana was used, simply because it was totally ironic, given the electronic elements to that album.
And thanks for the props on my handle.

I still enjoy "Dogman" if I was pushed to admit any King's X that still did it for me. |
For me, Dogman was their peak. I didn't dig much of their later stuff that I heard.
Dogman was less layered and more raw. The lyrics were a little more angry. And who can't dig a song like "Go To Hell"?

I overplayed pretty much their entire catalogue, so I sold them on Ebay.
Although, I do find myself singing "Over My Head" when I'm helping my son get ready for bed. As I pull his shirt off, I start singing:
"Over the head, you put the t-shirt on the floor, over the head, that dirty TEE SHIRT!"
He doesn't get it though. I guess I can't expect him too, he is only three.

Les Claypool is the dude from Primus, and he's amazing!
What about Doug Pinnick from Kings X?
Oh yeah, and Hi Tim!
