Amen! My friend Alex and I used to dream about a collaboration between the three of them :-)

Thread: How did you find DA? |
|
I came to DA via the Swirling Eddies. Someone in the high school group at church let me borrow Outdoor Elvis, and I loved it! It wasn't until 4 or 5 years later that the music buyer at the Christian bookstore I worked at told me about DA and that it was the same people as the Eddies. From that moment I was a committed TT/DA fan.

btw, does the horse have a name, if not how about Beetlebaum. |
I nearly laughed out loud. I love Spike Jones!

Indeed! He is one of my all-time faves, thanks to a college friend who player "Der Fuehrer's Face" for me :-)

This would be a most spectacular thing to witness! I hope y'all are able to pull it off and I'll be there if you do!

One small afterthought request--you said fall, I hope that doesn't mean after the start of the school year. That would make it much more difficult for students such as myself to attend....

Very kewl--and now that I'm finally caught up on reading the DAmb, I can finish waiting for my slow-as-molasses dial-up connection to download it!

You should tell him to come see what we had to say about his review!

I'm very disappointed that so far there aren't any tour dates on the same side of the country with me, let alone in the Portland/Vancouver area....
To be sure, the turnout is always limited to a handful of committed fans, but I'll miss seeing them this time.

Thread: Thus Quoteh DA Raven |

Illuminate my muddled heart
Sweep the shadows from my mind
So I might imagine what you are like
and understand the great design
Darn floor, big bite
You are earth water and light
Darn floor, big bite
can I ever hope to
get it right, can't get it right
.......
not quite earth, and not quite heaven
I'll imitate love like lovers do
not quite art and not quite living
I'll pray that writing it down is part of loving you
====================================
Lyrics like this are what always keep me coming back to DA!

Sounds really fun! I can just hear them ragging each other back and forth. I've had the immense privilege of seeing the guys in concert several times in the last 10 years or so whenever they've come to the Portland/Vancouver area as well as once in Seattle, and in '02 at Cornerstone (where I also heard Ping). Every time has felt the same to me. I can't write about it as fantastically as you just did, and I appreciate your review. There's always so much I wish I could express, particularly to Terry, about how they have become a part of my life through their music and never am able to. I always seem to come off as a starry-eyed teeny-bopper... :-/ at least in my own mind. I can never come up with anything intelligent to say, and end up hanging around with that goofy grin on my face that you mentioned
saying nothing at all!
Thanks again for your eloquent review; you really brought the night to life for me!

Maybe they take away your sense of humor when they hand out the old-lady masks at graduation....

Yes, I suppose it might not be so bad if you'd grown up with it. But how quickly we get used to our creature-comforts!

However, sweatin' at Cornerstone *is* something I've had the (dubious) pleasure of doing once with my other #bannerman IRC friends in '02. I camped out all day on the hottest day in the Silent Planet tent to see Lost Dogs and Ping and others. I had honest-to-goodness saddle sores after that! It was awful and wonderful at the same time. That weather nearly killed this Oregon native, and I doubt I'll ever go again. Glad I went at least once, though!

I must admit I don't quite understand the concept of Dippin' Dots. We just got our first mall kiosks in the last year or so and I've not tried them yet.
