Daniel Amos & Terry Taylor rarities on eBay 12-11-2002 12:52 Forum: General Discussion

I currently have Live Bootleg 81 and Miracle Faith Telethon listed on eBay. They are both cassettes, which I realize no one really wants. They are both in perfect condition and might hold you over until you can find (or afford) a CD. The starting bids are only $2.99 each with no reserve. I have no need for them, so I'd like to see them get a good home.

I have a new Alarma Chronicles Bookset listed on eBay. So far the bidding hasn't gotten totally out of control. I will also be listing cassettes of Live Bootleg '82 and Miracle Faith Telethon later today. They will go for real cheap. I have the CD's, so I would like to see the cassettes go to good homes. If you would like me to e-mail you when they are listed send me a message at highfiguy@juno.com.

In order to support my summer music buying spree (new CD's from Terry Taylor, Mike Roe, The 77's, Undercover, Bill & VOL, etc.) I am selling these two Swirling Eddies CD's at Ebay. Below are the links:

When Everyone Wore Hats Review 06-24-2002 15:42 Forum: General Discussion

I hope the things I said about the WEWH book and the Avocado club CD in my original post weren't construed and negative complaints. As I mentioned, I totally understand the decison to make WEWH a softcover and I am thrilled with it (circle marks on the covers and all). It was well worth the money. I should have also mentioned that WEWH really does out do the Alarma Chronicles book in many ways. I was always a bit bothered that the 4 Alarma Chronicles albums were put onto 3 CD's. It makes it a bit inconvenient to listen to. It also doesn't sound like any of the music was remastered, I could certainly be wrong about this, but they sound like the original CD's (and vinyl). Again, I'm nit-picking and that's all. It was by far the best thing that M8 ever put out (are they still around?). So, I hope I didn't step on any toes with my earlier comments. People like the Audiori boys and JT Feavel are doing a fantastic job keeping things going with some of my favorite bands and words can't really express my appreciation for that. Maybe I should keep my nit-picking to myself.

When Everyone Wore Hats Review 06-22-2002 13:06 Forum: General Discussion

Here's my review of the new "When Everyone Wore Hats" book set. First I will get my one complaint out of the way. The packaging in no way approaches what was done with the "Alarma Chronicles Book Set", not that this is a surprise to anyone that has been following the saga of this release. I remember being warned quite some time ago that things would have to be different with this release due to bugetary constraints. My biggest problem with the softcover book is that by the time it arrived in the mail there were permanant "circle marks" on the front and back covers showing the outline of the discs underneath. Now that I've got that out of the way onto the positive. This is a great release! I'm sure most of the readers here already have the original "Songs Of The Heart", and even if it wasn't your favorite DA album (I know there were mixed reactions to this album when it was released) you still owe it to yourself to buy the book set. Reading the stories behind the songs brings a whole new meaning to the project. I don't ever recall Terry Taylor going into this much detail in the past as to what his songs actually mean. The new acoustic versions of the songs on disc two are very well done (these are worlds better than the poor sounding demos from the first Avocado Club disc, hopefully those will be remastered and rereleased someday) and lend a totally different feel to the original versions of these songs. While coming in at only a little over 20 minutes, disc 3 has some nice stuff on it as well. Terry's abbreviated reading of the story of Bud & Irma Akendorf is interspersed with 3 more songs. At the end of this disc is an interview with Terry Taylor. So is it worth the $35 bucks? I guess that's going to differ for everyone, but I would highly recommend this release to any DA fan.

Ten Songs By Adam Again on E-bay 05-25-2002 13:47 Forum: General Discussion

Well, I screwed up on my original listing of this. The e-bay police didn't like the fact that I had offered to give away a free Gene Eugene "Live At Houghton" CD-R to the winning bidder, so they ended my auction early. I hope that didn't cause any problems for anyone. I have relisted it without the offending CD-R reference, below is the link if there is still any interest in this.

OK, I'll try this again. I can't find a way to test this before I post. If this doesn't work just go to e-bay and type in "Adam Again" and you'll find it. Adam Again on e-bay

OK, since I didn't see anything negative above, I've listed Ten Songs By Adam Again on e-bay. I don't know if that is really DA related enough, but I know many DA fans would be interested in it. You can check it out at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=873269156&ssPageName=ADM

If that link doesn't work I'm sure you can find it by searching for Adam Again at e-bay. So if I decide to sell Outdoor Elvis or some other DA rarity in the future should I let people here know?

If I list something to sell on e-bay that would be of interest to Daniel Amos fans should I tell people about that on this message board or not? I can see a couple of possible outcomes to me doing that. #1 People are happy because they have been informed about something rare that many of them may want. #2 People curse my name for "advertising" on this message board. I seem to remember seeing links for items on e-bay in the past, but don't remember the reaction. I'm not going to do the fake "hey I just saw this on e-bay and thought you might be interested" thing. This is something I am selling and will probably benefit from by posting messages about it. Any opinions? I will post this same message on some of the other message boards that I lurk at and see what I come up with. Then I'll check back in a couple of days and see if it is safe to post my link. I've also included my real e-mail address if anyone wants to contact me directly with their opinions.
