Thread: DA ~ Dig Here Said The Angel (2013) |
|
This one is a no-brainer. Too many Kickstarter campaigns ask for too much with too little to offer. But new music from a band that has delivered awesomeness so many times before? Sold!
(For those of you waiting for payday, you won't actually be charged until the end of the campaign on 9/6. That's plenty of time to save up for the $30 or above rewards.)
I've often wondered when DA was going to try the Kickstarter thing. That day is here, and I'm super stoked!

From memory, you've got one missing song - they also did "Sanctuary" toward the end of the set.

Thanks. I had it on my list, but apparently didn't type it last night when I was transferring from my phone. I've edited my original post.
Also, I'm not 100% sure about the first song. I was so enthralled that I didn't think to take notes until about three songs in.

I don't remember if he ever actually played it, but he did spend an entire song wrestling with the strap and was only ready to play just as the song ended. Then he switched right back to his other guitar while Terry joked about it.
I estimated the attendance around 120. Disappointing turnout, but it was a Monday night in a suburb 30 minutes from town.

Thread: Roll Call Nashville DA show |

My wife and I will be there, and I hope I've talked a friend or two into it as well.
I've been playing DA and plugging the show every week on my radio show, so maybe some of my listeners will make it!

Yay! I got my two Swine CDs from Brooklyn tonight!
I had them shipped to my mother-in-law's house since we were on vacation in mid-April. She had put them in the giveaway pile since she'd forgotten I shipped them to her.
Five tracks in and I couldn't be happier.

My wife called again about the Nashville (Smyrna) show this morning, and learned that the tickets will be sold through TicketsNashville.com, but that they aren't on sale yet.
The VIP tickets will include front row seats, schwag and a meet and greet afterwards.
I promoted it twice on my radio show this morning, and played Ordinary Extraordinary Day. I can't wait!

Thread: re-release music question |

I just bought the Outdoor Elvis MP3 album from Amazon for $7. As much as I'd love to have an actual CD, I'm absolutely thrilled to have my first Terry Taylor album in something other than an old tape that I'm afraid to play.

That makes me wonder which box in the basement holds those 8-tracks I found for $.25 each at a used bookstore in Dallas about 15 years ago. The original Daniel Amos album (or was it Shotgun Angel?), and one of the Maranatha releases with a DA song or two on it.

Outdoor Elvis on CD is one of my life's greatest wishes. It was my first SE/DA album, and I'm afraid the next time I put in that old cassette will be the last.
