Judging by the DA Facebook page, is this a good time to bump this topic?

Has anyone else had a problem with the Sanctuary file on the 1983 concert?

Oooh. I would love to have the radio shows. I think a good download could be made from the vinyl.

Frontline re-issues 01-14-2013 16:59 Forum: Upcoming Releases

On Facebook, the owners of the old Frontline/ BAI/ Killien catalog announced today they're re-releasing "Motorcycle," "Ten Songs by Adam Again" and "Scenic Routes" tomorrow (1/15.) The video they posted also says there will be digital and CDs available on Amazon.

Audioris, have you guys had any contact with the new Frontline people? Any background on them? Any discussions about working together?

Just curious.

Is the live album or DVD from the summer tour still a possibility?

Wow, that footage looks great. Very exciting!

If there are two good multi-track masters, I'd love to have just an audio CD version in addition to the DVD. I'd buy both!

Btw, a bonus track on the DVD has to be the footage of Tim playing with the guys in Nashville, no matter how crappy the source! That was an incredible moment.

How did the videotaping of the weekend shows go? I thought one was going to be filmed and recorded?

Hey all,

The tour reports have kind of dried up. What's been going on out there?!

I saw on Facebook that Mark Cook sat in at one of the shows. Dish!! What happened?!

I doubt it. I was only at SIU for awhile and was not involved in any of the campus groups.

I'm 34, so I would have been at SIU from 95-97 and 98-99.

Yeah, there was a night and day difference in Monday and Tuesday night. But, hey, it was the first show in ten years. Understandable! Smile

I got it last night and listened the second disc on my way home. It's so much fun. A great insight into the creation of a great album. Very interesting to listen to.

Let's hope there's more and more to come Wink

Here's my thoughts on the last two nights:

I live in Southern Illinois (the Carbondale area) so it's a 3 1/2 drive to Smyrna and about a 2 hour drive to Wentzville. When the tour dates were announced, I was pretty sure I had to go to both. I mean, hey, they havent toured in 20 years and I havent seen them live in 11 years, so what the heck.

The Smyrna show was worth it just to see the one song with Tim. That one moment was such a geek out fan boy moment-- like if John, Paul, George and Ringo had ever been on the same stage together after 1970-- that the 7 hours of driving was so worth it.

The show itself-- well, it's always, always good to see the boys in any situation. And there were many fun, great moments. But overall, it was definitely not ideal.

I've heard from other touring musicians that Nashville is a tough place to play because everyone has a chip on their shoulder, being all musicians. I don't know if that was the case in this room-- and there were definitely plenty of enthusiastic fans-- but the audience was pretty dead. It was also about 15 feet from the band to the first row of seats. The environment just made it an awkward situation.

The band seemed nervous and a little unsure at times (hey, it was the first show) but little mess-ups like "New Car" seemed to loosen them up a bit.

If the show had been in a sweaty pole barn at Cornerstone or a bar, I think the guys would have been much, much better. But the crowd was really giving them nothing.

The sound wasnt too great either. For that kind of room, it should have been pristine. Greg was barely audible the entire show and you could only hear Jerry after he turned up mid-set.

But it was still fun. And still great to see them.

On the other hand, Wentzville was awesome. Fantastic show.

The guys were loose, happy, they played very well. Dropping the four songs from the night before really tightened up the set. The crowd was excited and into it. It was a nice, cozy room. I stood in the back the entire time and was still very close to the band and had a great view of everything. Greg was still a little low in the mix, but it was a small room. You couldnt blast everyone away.

Overall, the last two nights were an amazing experience. As I sat waiting for the Monday night show to start, I felt just like I did when I was 13-- standing on one of the lighting rigs in anticipation of seeing them for the first time at Cornerstone '90.

I wish I would have taken off an entire week of work and followed the band a few more days.

Thanks to everyone involved for making all this possible.

I really had fun listening to "Swine." I got the standard edition, no personalized stuff on it.

It really was like (and I'm sure this was the intent) I went over to Terry's house one day and he played a few songs as we sat around and talked and then he said "hey, want to hear some crazy demos and stuff in the archive?"

Actually, my favorite part was the acoustic songs with the intros, the released and unreleased. I would easily pay $20 for an entire CD of Terry doing that.

Considering there's very little overhead involved in putting together the disc and it only takes an afternoon of Terry's time to record (plus mixing and mastering,) this could be a really good way to help finance the new DA album. Especially if he has the time to put together a couple more of these in the next few months.

Great concept and very cool CD!
