  Favorite !Alarma! Album

Hi, Everyone,

My name's Chris and I'm new here. I love the bands you guys post about, and here's my first thread for the board:

It's an absurd question because they're all great (YES), but do you have a particular favorite of the !Alarma! series?

My first was "Doppleganger," and because of a few specific tracks, that might be it. But the beauty and glory of "Fearful Symmetry" probably beats it out for me.

The one I think is the least successful, "Vox Humana," also contains two or three of the very best songs in the whole series ... "William Blake," for example ... but the record seems more laid back than the others, not as gut-punching as !Alarma! itself, or whatever.

Sorry if this has actually been discussed before, or is considered blasphemy ... xo

  RE: Favorite !Alarma! Album

Welcome Chris! I'd have to pick Doppelganger as my favorite of the Chronicles, but Vox Humana grows on me more and more with every listen.... I mean, William Blake, Sanctuary, Travelog, As The World Turns... Tongue

I have to go with Vox Humana although I have stated before that my favorite is Fearful Symmetry so I guess they tie since I can't make up my mind Big Grin

Welcome to the board Cool

My favorite is Fearful Symmetry followed by Vox Humana.......you've inspired me to play FS right now Big Grin

I think the first album still sounds fresh and odd after all these years.

Cool RE: Favorite !Alarma! Album

welcome, chris..
vox was my first introduction to DA and still my favorite of those 4 albums..
william blake, sanctuary, as the world turns... just some of Da's best tunes! Big Grin

I love Incredible Shrinking Man.

FS was my first intro to the first four. But I loved Doppelganger, and now I think its Vox. Alarma was the first CD I ever bought, of any kind, of any band. Before I had a cd player!

Hey Chris...

FS was my first DA album and up until last year my favourite. Now I'd have to say DFBB is my favourite.

NO, Dennis, you have to switch the last two of Dale's around, then he's right.

I love Dopelganger, musically it would be my favorite.
But I guess I would have to say Alarma is my all time
favorite of the series because "this nostalgia things
hangs on.."

That is the problem with terry's work. It is all so different that each one is my favorite in a different way.

Its like a great long song.
But I have to agree with DAle (in this , and this only!)
VH
FS
iA!
DG

I think the reason is how I got introduced to them- in the above order
