I'm really me, a mild mannered engineer from Chesapeake, Virginia. My real name is Steve or Stevebob (all my friends call me Stevebob). I am not one of buddies who have been on this board since the Colonel was a corporal (or a Normal noggin...) I am a true newby who loves Christian music that sounds like it was written by people who are still alive and I eagerly wish to start buying good music.
really
I mean it

Let's Spin all the way! Let's Spin intorduced to me TST and got me hooked on Daniel Amos and the rest is history. I heard "Let's Spin" and "Catch that Angel" on a local CCM music show for teens and had to find the tape. I must have listened to that tape at least 3 times a day for about 6 months. When I got a CD player it was one of the first CDs I bought. When I'm in an Eddies mood, it's Let's Spin. Then I'll put in Zoom Daddy ("Love Grapes" is just the coolest song!) I like Outdoor Elvis for "Driving in England" and my high school friends and I to this day can still recite all the words to "CoCo the Talking Guitar" (and the "Large Family" bit fom Dr. Edward Daniel.....et al.--okay, so all the Eddies stuff rocks!!)

But still I say that as an album that is consistent (with the exception of "Snowball," which is just an odd track, they should have put on the original instrumental found on Dr. Ed on Let's Spin.)

But if I had to choose one Eddies song that totally rocks, I'd have to say "Like Lazarus." That one belonged on "Zoom Daddy."

It's such an old joke, but, I'm an old guy. What can I say?

  The best

They're all very good in their own unique way.

My favorite? Lets Spin. It is easily the most accessible work of the Eddys. Melodically pleasing, and more light-hearted than the other works.

I love most of the Outdoor Elvis tunes, but have trouble getting into the false vibratto. ("Call in all the ants, this is our last chance...")

Zoom Daddy - I have to be in a weird mood to really enjoy it fully. Easily the best lyrics of any Eddy work; the spoken vocals and some of the music though make it tough for me to always enjoy listening.

Berry Vest - I love 'Lazarus' and the acoustic bonus tracks, as well as the wacky letter, which is VERY funny. (hideous, hideous!)

Sacred Cows is in it's own strange twisted little world. I spin it when I want a good laugh. Everyone I loan it to gets a laugh or two.

By the way, who's looking forward to seeing the Eds at Lifest this Saturday? I'll be there.

I'm partial to the first one, simply because it was the first one. Zoom Daddy has never hit me, and remains one of those albums I'm still trying to love. Sacred Cows is a story unto itself.

Still, the SE are part of the great family, and as such have a home in my heart. Even Zoom Daddy - which has very cool cover art.

Zoom Daddy.

The lyric page alone is worth the price of the cd.

Each song is unlike anything else they have done. I am still in shock that this didn't make them billionairs and universally known.
