Skeletons are moving under ground
There are angels on the sly
God is busy turning a big wheel 'round and 'round

Poe me, i'm a twit!

Word-weaver
weave your words
into a basket-song

That the Truth
may be carried
from the halls of Heaven
into my dusty heart.

Do real men cry?
I never thought it was true,
maybe I could tough this one out
Be strong enough to make it through,
(but now) there's tears in the eyes
of this stubborn fool,
Do real men cry?
Well, baby, now you know,
that real men do.

There's a place called the Promised Land
It overlooks the ocean
With your own room and a lovely view
And a cure for your devotion

"Give me a bullhorn, I'll help Your kingdom come"

When I was a young Christinan back in the late 80's we actually had an "evangelist" in our church who would go out downtown with his bullhorn and "preach to the sinners"!

i passed a bullhorn pastor today on Van Nuys BLVD as i was driving to Eva's church.

i think one of his flock was laying hands on 7 foot inflatable purple cylinder man outside a shoe store. No kidding...i could not tell what she was doing.

One more time
I'd love to see you my friend
One more time
I wish I could hold your hand
One more time
I'd look into your eyes,
and tell you "I Love you"
One more time.

Ya know what song reminds me of my dad?...

..is that Sixpence None The Richer song from their first CD...

Soul

tell me father are you riding on
the fictional bus up to heaven above

do you listen to the angels on the outskirts
have they persuaded you
oh tell me father
perhaps you have been persuaded before
i just want to know where your body and soul
roam tonight

but i know i'll never know
until i pass away to the next life
i know i'll never know
where your soul roams tonight
until i reach the afterlife

kneeling in this church of stone
on this pew reading my prayer book
we commend to your lord
all the souls who have died
as you walk in the garden
is the grass broken glass on your feet
i want to believe when i think how i wasted my chance

and mother i pray
that it would happen someday
we would find you
where we're going

  Half Light Epoch & Phase

These are the images I arrange
To fill in my report on you
Holiness, mystery, disturbing and strange
Obscuring the point of my view

Everyone seems to know just what you are
But I never seem to break through
Forgive me please if I can't see that far
Life's dulling the point of my view

Chorus:
Half light, coming through the dark glass darkly
Half light, where faith and doubt remain
Half light, tattoo scars where shadows mark me
Half light, I don't expect you to explain

This is the passage I undertake
Over the epoch and phase
The terror and sweetness of history and fate
The last word on the very last page

Everyone seems to think they've got it made
That you're on a rack by the door
It's true, I don't know much except I am saved
From falling through cracks in the floor

(Chorus)

Tomorrow I'm planning to write the great book
In which I will capture our time
Set forth the fury, the sound and the look
If I could just make up my mind

Everyone seems to think you're on their side
But I don't think you're that small
How could they see it when reason has died
We haven't a clue to it all

(Chorus)

My favourite lines of all....

RE: Half Light Epoch & Phase

I think it is lines/songs like this that have really impacted me the most through DA. Specifically the awesome, just-out-of-reachness of God. The thought that I can almost taste Him, but I can't. I can sure enjoy the mystery of it all though, and that's what Terry's lyrics seem to envoke over and over. As fun as the rest is, as unique musically or whatever else they are good at, its this one little bit that the Spirit has used DA to bring about change in me for the better .

Thumb Up!

We must send that to Terry.

Cool Dunno if it counts, but....

"I knew that I was in Christ Jesus above all principalities and powers, authorities and rulers of this dark world, yet struggling and being fooled by them all. In that moment I saw clearly two realities, seemingly contradictory, which created one truth: Everybody, everything has a double existence both in time and when time will be no more."
