Just got home about an hour ago... the last 2 1/2 days have all run together into one long day with a couple of naps. I only got about 2 hrs sleep last night.

I missed meeting wakachiwaka and didn't have enough time to really talk with backs this time around. Frown But it was still a good trip.

The video is grainy because the lighting was so bad. Even my HD camera had a hard time with it. The audio isn't too good but that's how these things go sometimes. I haven't had time to go through it all yet but I'll put some things up on YouTube next week.

Other highlights from this trip: Jiminy's son getting stuck by a cactus after I told him how those things just kinda jump on you without warning, standing next to a 40 foot tall saguaro cactus, photos at the dinosaurs and windmills, jiminy talking non-stop the entire drive over from phoenix and then back again to phoenix (at least he was there to keep me awake while driving Tongue ) walking the beach just after the sun went down, hanging out with wes berlin, video taping jiminy while he recorded several songs in mr berlin's studio Happy , breakfast at Le Roy's, playing roadie for DAS, getting my Neverhood PC game signed by Doug TenNapel, meeting and talking with Kristy McTaggart, and the sourdough breakfast sandwich from jack in the box this morning.

They do put on a great show, the one here in Wentzville was so much fun. Had I been able to make it out west I probably would have gone to this one too.

Biddy, thank you again for your generosity and the FRONT ROW SEATS. It was a shame that there was not more time to talk, but it is wonderful to share such an event with somebody who gets it and knows they are in the presence of greatness (no, not Evangeline, THE BAND!) Thank you and bless you!

I have heard the boys many, many times over the years and many times in their "prime," but I don't recall them ever sounding better. The two lead guitars were outstanding, driving each other to greater and greater heights. Terry's vocals were flawless. The new arrangements were exciting, especially The Twist with Terry practically whispering the profound lyrics in the beginning of the song with a quiet accompaniment that built to a passionate crescendo. What Terry shared between songs was hilarious (his beer anecdote), gracious, and profound. We all know how wonderful all of the songs are. Does any band have a deeper or more profound canon from which to chose? The strong affection and respect all of the band has for each other was very evident as it always has been.
My sister, who is not a rock and roll lady by any definition was struck by the enormous energy "of that bass player" and the amazing facial expressions and stances of "the guy with the dark hair (Jerry)"

Mr. Berlin, it was great to see you playing with DAS!
Sondance, thank you for introducing yourself. It was an honor!
Cricket, I don't think you are here, so we will speak again elsewhere.
Father God, thank you for blessing all of us with this enormously gifted group of brothers who reflect your majesty with their artistry, truth telling and outrageous antics.

Baxter, yes, I don't think the band has sounded better than on this tour.

Posted by Audiori J on 08-13-2011 at09:55:

They have been very sharp and playing with a lot of energy. It seems like they are taking this tour a lot more seriously, at times on some tours they have not taken themselves seriously at all. The music has always been good, but you can tell they are giving it their all.

this show was a blast that's for sure! Cool

Are there any other songs from this show that you want to see? I've been focusing on the Phx show and the stuff with DAS the most.
