I wasn't going to buy this re-release of Swirling Mellow as I have the m8'ed edition and money is tight and it takes 3 months to arrive if it arrives at all.

BUT! if these extra tracks and things go on there I may just have to.

Grrr... curse this completist OCD Big Grin

Yeah make it unique so I buy

I have Swirling Mellow from the 2000 CD reissue. It will be much easier to justify if there's some extra stuff I don't have...

Posted by audiori on 05-25-2008 at20:37:

These aren't really being done for folks that already have it. Most of these will not include extra tracks or anything.. its just a little plan to get some oddities back in print and available to the fans again.

There might be a couple that are "re-envisioned" a bit... more on that later.

We also figured out something interesting with international shipments... apparently, just recently, US customs changed some of their regulations for international shipments. We were not informed of this change and we're not sure exactly when it took place, but we're guessing it was around the first of the year. Since that same time, we've had an increase in slow or lost international packages. But.. now that we know about these changes, we can make some adjustments that might make things move a little better. We're trying it out anyway... everyone cross your fingers.

Okay, I finally got a chance to listen to it on the way in to work today...
Side one has Swirling Mellow, then when the last track ends, it breaks into (perhaps it was taped over...?) an interview with someone and Terry regarding Alarma. It sounds like a radio thing, but anyway, I've never heard it anywhere else. At the end of side one, the interview isn't necessarily over, just ends. The second side (though I haven't listened to the end yet) is a concert. The first song is So Certain, Mary Baker Eddy, Secret Scripts, etc are in there.

I don't think mine's the same as any of these, but I wasn't that specific in listening...though if its anything its the Shirley Goodness one. There is definitely an interview, only about ten minutes long at the end of side one. The second side is more live stuff, though...

Do you want more specific details?

Posted by audiori on 05-28-2008 at21:19:

Yeah, if you can give anything more specific. Could the interview be the Alarma Radio show?

(You can do a search or a "find" in your browser for the dialogue you hear and see if its on the page. )

Yes, that is it.

What the concert is... I don't know I'll try to check more closely tonight.

Is that the one that has some Shotgun Angel stuff?

They were recording the "Something Inside!!" parts
and a snip of "The Lowdown" and/or "Pick Up the Pieces"
as DA was kind of having fun jamming out in the studio.

Do you mean the Starter Set demos? If so, those will be coming back as well.

Posted by clipon on 06-04-2008 at22:02:

to be honest i dont remember the name, i just remember thinking it was really cool sounding!

  From banophernalia.com

"Random Acts & Hodgepodge."

A wonderfully strange little collection of songs from Terry. These aren't fleshed out polished songs, they are as the title aptly states "Random Acts & Hodgepodge." The first couple of songs are in the vein of Terry's work from the 80's when he was writing his "sad sweet music." They're not great but they're the most appealing songs on the CD. The rest are Doug TenNapel cast off's, and are thoroughly weird, and showcase Terry at his goofy best.

Not a disc for everyone, and quite frankly that's the way it was intended; In an age when artists like Bon Jovi are celebrating their 100 millionth album, it's refreshing to think that small market artists can press under 500 copies of a CD and call it a moderate success.

This was a limited run so even if you wanted this, you couldn't get a copy. You'll have to wait for one of the other selected few to sell their precious copy.

Nyah nyah na nah na

1. Satellite Moon ~The Starter Set
2. Prayer Warrior ~The Starter Set

3. Welcome to the Real World (Demo)
4. Klaymen's Theme (Demo)
5. Don't, Do, Maybe (Demo)
6. Celestial Pineapples (Demo)
7. Unna Walka Walka Hey! (Demo)

8. Goodie Bear Theme
9. Project G.e.e.K.e.r Theme
10. Hamster Theme from Koghead and Meatus

11. Lift Up Your Hearts (Sorsum Corda) (Demo)

The CD is in my mind, broken up into three sections,
with the liturgical "Lift Up Your Hearts" as a strange ending
to a real oddity of a CD.

The video game demos (2 through 7) are my favorite,
just terry and his guitar and a cheap tape recorder!
