  Tabs, Transcriptions and Songbooks

I would love to get ahold of some well done transcriptions for da stuff. Is there a songbook anywhere? A lot of the ones I've found online have been oversimplified or incorrect. I've transcribed several myself, (as have various family members), but that can be rather time consuming. It would be great Cool if a songbook was available <hint>. Big Grin Also da definately has the feel of a band whose fans are musically oriented themselves. Perhaps someone here knows of a source for accurate da transcriptions?

My brother has transcribed a few songs, if enough people could gather enough transcriptions we might look into printing something. I don't think the band has much actually transcribed, Terry does a lot in his enormous swaying genius head I think.

I think my brother worked on "Sanctuary", "After All These Years", seems like a couple others...not sure.

I wouldnt know how to read one if it were done.
i am a fake and a phoney.

Not to worry you phonies and fakes, a good transcriptionist knows how to dumb things down for the self-educated. As to compiling some stuff; what a great idea! I would love to see what other people have come up with.

  Tabs

I know Jason has many translations on his Tim Chandler page. BP

I had a look at some of them and they were OK. However, (not to be unkind), I don't agree with some of the chord choices, (though the bones of the songs appear to be there). Also what I have in mind is slightly more detailed. Also some of the links on that page are blind and redirect you to an index which goes nowhere. I don't mean to criticize as he's posted waaaay more transcriptions than I have, (0), and I would hate to surrender to shooting down the good-hearted, well intended efforts of a fellow musician. I know if I had some tabs posted and some anonymous jerk online, who had none, started to gripe about them, I'd be royally ticked. Please, don't take offense? Smile

Try this out. Hope it translates to the board. Wink

“Posse In the Sky” by Daniel Amos off of the album “Shotgun Angel” Lyrics and music by the incomparable Terry Scott Taylor
Transcribed by clonliness

This is the way to play this song, to the best of my knowledge. The song is in E major, with a brief switch to C# harmonic minor. I will try to indicate the rhythmic pattern and the chord formation in a logical way. The 1e&a etc. at the top of the grid indicates a way to count the 16th note subdivisions. This should help to indicate the strum pattern.
