  DAMB Haikus!!!

I pilfered this thread
From another message board
It’s the Haiku Thread

‘What’s Haiku?’ you ask
It is syllabic verses
Of five-seven-five;

The first verse has five
The second verse has seven
The third verse has five

Communicating
In any other manner
Is prohibited

Since this forum is
All about the great DA
Let’s haiku their works

The ‘Darn Floor Big Bite’
Album is my favourite
An amazing work!

From start to finish
The melodies and lyrics
Are immaculate

Terry Scott Taylor
Reaches deep into his soul
Some of his best work

The opening song,
'Return Of The Beat Menace',
Is very trippy;

Eskimos with hair
Like girls from Mississippi?
That is very strange!

That’s a nice segue
Into track numero dos;
It’s ‘Strange Animals’

I’m paraphrasing
‘You are one strange animal,
And I am one, too’

The title-track’s next;
‘Darn Floor Big Bite’…inspired
By primate’s signing

God says ‘Describe Me’
A Roaring Lion and a
Consuming fire

Next up we have the
Very serene ‘Earth Household’
I listen and float

Gravity cannot
Keep us down eternally
One day we will fly

Next is track cuatro
‘Safety Net’ is God’s grace and
Protection for us

The following line,
‘Down to the black bridge of sighs’,
Is very profound

Next is track cinco
It’s ‘Pictures Of The Gone World’
Sadly nostalgic

Making love to you
I am holding on to you
We’ll lose this world, too

The next number is
The awesome ‘Divine Instant’
It is amazing!

Think about this one…
This song could be a soundtrack
For man-wife coitus!

After this is the
Great ‘Half Light, Epoch, And Phase’
A DA classic!

I love the chorus…
…dark glass darkly…tattoo scars…
…faith and doubt remain…

Another classic,
‘The Unattainable Earth’
Is the next number

What has God revealed?
Do we misunderstand it?
Earth too huge to grasp

And then the last song…
What a profound piece of work!!!
It’s ‘The Shape Of Air’

I love this lyric;
‘…a world where nets catch the wind…’
I can sit and stare…

And that’s that, my friends
DA, SE, TST
Bring on the Haikus!

Would not Conan need
At least a Kennedy half
For that great, fat ass?
