  DA video from '85

I put this clip up on my website a while ago, but I don't think I ever mentioned it here. It's old and funky...the video quality is poor. But it's still fun to watch! It's a pro shot video (does anyone have a clean version of this? Tim????) from the Doppelganger Tour???

Aye, we know who filmed it, we have access to the master.
We have talked to someone about putting the entire thing
out officially.

Originally we thought of using some of it in a compilation,
but then discussed the whole thing on it's own. There are
others of similar quality. It would be nice to get some
of the better footage put out, there are a lot of people that have never seen them play live.

Most of the masters of tapes like this are in Umatic
or Betacam SP format so the quality from the masters
is pretty good, but for the sound we would need to
run directly from our Umatic/Betacam machines into the
digital tape format.

I'd be more than Happy to turn it into a DVD Wink

It would be great to see this one done right, from the short footage I have it looks like it was a great show. The tape I have is only like three or four songs.

"this was a CHRISTIAN band doing this- who could hold a candle to THAT" -jiminy

I have some other stuff from that time period, not much and most of the video quality is worse than this, but you can still see how tight the Guys were back in the touring days. DA ROCKED! (and still do I might add Big Grin )

As a side note:
If Tim C. is reading this, back at Cornerstone '84 were you playing lead guitar on several songs?

Posted by Mark on 02-20-2003 at09:51:

I'll take a DVD of this.

yes, i was playing guitar on several songs at c-stone 84, and i apologize for that. thank God greg came along when he did.

and i think this clip has to be from cornerstone 85? that's ric alba (from early Undercover for you kids too young to remember) playing bass on that one gig. i was in europe with my wife. we'd just gotten married, didn't have an apartment or house, da was going to be playing a few times over there (england, holland) and we went over there early to spend as much time as possible, but missed the cornerstone gig.

and i think i missed one of the best shows the band ever did!

Posted by dorfsmith on 02-20-2003 at11:05:

I really want to see this. Good story Tim. Was Rick Alba in Undercover too? I thought he was only in the Alter Boys. Either way I'm a big fan of his solo stuff.

  ahhhhhhhhh

the tangled web they weave.
(wrap me up Shelob, and sting me good!)

Someone should be writing these facts down kids......
Its HIStory in the making.......

I'm a fan of his Altar Boys stuff too. I really like "holes in the floor of heaven." Did he ever do any other solo stuff?

Posted by dorfsmith on 02-20-2003 at16:10:

Holes In The Floor Of Heaven is the only one I know of but it is great.

maybe you could start a disscussion forum section where people can ask specific questions to specific people & only the one who is being asked can reply ?

  LOL!

people would just post off topic like on Marty's Demos! Tongue

Posted by audiori on 02-20-2003 at17:19:

We were told that clip was from '85 and from Anahiem
California... but that could be wrong information,
we've never been able to verify it for sure.

I think the lineup was Terry Taylor, Ed McTaggert,
Greg Flesch, Rob Watson, Ric Alba, Alex MacDougall,
and there is someone else there in the back playing keyboards too but we never could tell who it was.

Maybe we will persue this in the near future, we have
2 other DVDs in the planning stages. One of which is the
"Making of Buechners" DVD, which just takes a lot of editing
and planning to figure out a good format or schedule.
And the other DVD is a secret... Shocked

Anyway, we will try and get the master and maybe we can get
the ball rolling on this one.

I mean to actually make it impossible to post unless you are that person... I know personal message works for that but, it is good to read actual facts, stories etc. from people who KNOW like, tchandler, audiori, jeffery k.

one could post a BDDVD question to BigDorK
& only he could answer.

but the question & answer may be of
interest to a few others...
